The Archives are a colossal, extragalactic ring that contains all iterations of any information in the universe whatsoever. Made from an indestructible material, the Archives collect information about the current universe by formatting its data banks at the start of every new universe. This makes it the most ancient object in any arc of existence. It collects data by emitting a nigh-undetectable form of radiation that fills every crevice of existence. At this point, all the energy around the Archives that hasn't entropied has coagulated, becoming a more solid material that sustains the Archives.

the episode was "Buggin in the system". just think of giant silicon lamprey eel's that breed like asian carp when near energy and they inhabit that thing.
