Description
They waited and watched the sprouting of their seed,
Planted in the richest of lands.
They gave it all it could ever need,
This creature, once called "Man."
Man roamed the world, longing exploration,
Always seeking for more.
And with the rise of each new nation,
The boundaries of Man were ignored.
The centuries passed, the world grew weak,
Her dying breaths drew near.
The vengeful Gods, before Man reached his peak,
Would destroy what began here.
For centuries, this "Man" had neglected
Their resources set in store.
So the skies bellowed, in pain and dejected,
And the Gods declared war.
No, I'm not, in fact, polytheistic.
But I thought it was a good concept for this piece.
